Since March 2024, TROX has been officially certified according to ISO 20400 for sustainable procurement by DQS. This significant certification is the result of over two years of work by our procurement team, who have worked hard to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our procurement processes and increase transparency in the supply chain on issues such as human rights and environmental protection.
Why is this important?
ISO 20400 provides us with a common language for our global procurement activities to structure, plan and improve sustainability aspects. This standard enables us to further increase transparency with regard to sustainability aspects, reduce our environmental impact, assume social responsibility and strengthen our business relationships through a sustainable strategy.
What is sustainable procurement?
Basically, it is about thinking beyond the purchase of products and services. As a purchasing team, it is our responsibility to organise the purchase of goods, services and materials taking into account social, economic and ecological aspects. After all, the most favourable offer is usually not the most economical, environmentally friendly or socially fair-minded one.
Purchasing sustainable products and services therefore not only contributes to the resilience and future viability of our company, but also to its long-term profitability.
Our purchasing team has thus made significant progress in terms of socially, environmentally and economically sustainable procurement decisions.
