Description

The VAV air flow controller is equipped with two effective pressure sensors to measure air flow: one in the cold air flow and one in the general air flow.

Control components (optional accessories) include two effective pressure sensors that convert effective pressure into an electrical signal, two controllers and two actuators; e.g. Compact controller or with individual components.

In most cases, the setpoint for a two-channel controller comes from the room temperature controller. The room thermostat controls the cold air flow controller and indicates the set value of the cold air flow from 0 to the maximum flow qᵥmax. The controller compares the actual value with the set value and modifies the damper actuator control signal if there is a difference between the two values. The warm air/general regulator is set to the minimum flow rate qᵥmin and controls the damper flap in the heat duct. As a consequence, an appropriate proportion of warm air is added. As cooling demand increases, the warm air damper closes so that only cool air ends up flowing. A built-in silencer reduces noise caused by restricted airflow. The air flow rate on the room side, due to the larger rectangular cross-section, is approximately half the speed in a circular duct.
